Australian Best Reads

This is a very nice site, not only for lists of great reads, but for links to sites which review resources, eg under subject areas.

From an email sent by Barbara Braxton:

Best reads for Australian Kids http://australian-best-reads.wikispaces.com/ is designed to be a database where we can recommend must-reads for students from K-12. There are also pages for sharing information about the best apps, blogs about books, read and review, e-books, and book trailers. It is not limited to Australian authors and as well as the 'classics' we are hoping to get recommendations for new publications as well so we can all expand our knowledge and introduce students to things beyond the 'tried-and-true'.. It began because I discovered that the Top 100 books in Australian school libraries has hardly changed since I retired in 2006, and what was there in 2006 had hardly changed for many years as well. To join, you will need to click on "Join" in the top menu bar and do what is required. I'll approve it asap but if you don't leave an email address, you will not get notification.

SchoolStore.com.au

Although intermitently slow at the time of access this site looks like a terrific resource for both fiction and non-fiction for children of all ages. There are a couple of supplier catalogues and lists of titles by subject.
